D’Addario brothers Brian and Michael have announced their return as The Lemon Twigs, with their sixth album Look for Your Mind! arriving on May 8 via Captured Tracks. Lead single “I Just Can’t Get Over Losing You“ is a classic pop track that sounds like an outtake from That Thing You Do!, with the music video even bringing to mind some of The Oneders’ performances from the film, in addition to allusions to less fictional acts like The Beatles. “Every time we try to write something that’s completely straightforward, we can’t help adding an element which comes out of left field,” Brian shared. “We always want to write a song we’ve never heard before.”
For Look for Your Mind!, the brothers recruited drummer Reza Matin and bassist Danny Ayala from their touring band to join them in the studio, as well as Eva Chambers of Tchotchke. Check out the clip for “I Just Can’t Get Over Losing You“ below, and pre-order Look for Your Mind! here.
