Maggie Rogers is celebrating 10 years of her career by establishing the Maggie Rogers Foundation. The platform aims to give students a comparable opportunity to the one she received back in 2016 while a student at NYU where she played guest speaker Pharrell a demo of her single “Alaska” in a moment that has since gone viral.
As Rogers explained in a Substack post introducing the initiative: “The Maggie Rogers Foundation is dedicated to bringing arts and music education to students of all backgrounds, while continuing Rogers’ ongoing effort to support the health and wellbeing of women of all identities in communities across the country—because creativity and care go hand in hand. The foundation’s first initiative will be The Maggie Rogers Endowed Scholarship Fund at Rogers’ alma mater, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, which will offer financial aid to students pursuing degrees in music production.”
