Betsy Roszko first made a name for herself as a member of the French post-punk band Gomme in the mid-2010s, though after a brief hiatus she’s reemerged as a solo artist under the name Tomorrow Woman. As initially demonstrated by her debut single “Honey Factory” a few weeks ago, the Paris-via-California songwriter has shifted into the realm of unnerving electronic music, with today’s reveal of “Ultrasound” only doubling down on that vision. The eerie four-minute instrumental cut has a clubbier feel than its predecessor, with its minimal beat being built around a sample reprimanding us for not dancing. “I started out just wanting to make something dark and clubby and fun, and then the song kind of took on a life of its own,” the artist shares. “I hope it unlocks a slightly concerning version of you on the dance floor.”

The chopped-and-pixelated visualizer for the track provides a bit of inspiration for listeners to explore their most concerning impulses—check that out below, and anticipate Tomorrow Woman’s debut EP Plays Machines to arrive May 1.
