Boards of Canada are kind of sort of back...I think? The Scottish duo’s YouTube channel has uploaded a new clip called “Tape 5,” which also appeared on the official Instagram account of Warp Records—the longtime label home of Boards of Canada. The band’s last full-length, Tomorrow’s Harvest, arrived in 2013, and BoC has supposedly been gearing up to release new music lately. According to BoC Pages, an unofficial though extremely thorough source on all things Boards of Canada, the band has been planting Easter eggs throughout the month.

“In early April 2026,” the fan site reports, “a handful of Boards of Canada fans received mysterious VHS tapes marked with a logo consisting of seven tessellated hexagons, immediately leading to speculation that Boards of Canada were signalling their long-awaited return following 2013’s Tomorrow’s Harvest. The VHS tapes were allegedly sent through distribution channels linked to Warp Records and its retail arm Bleep, reinforcing speculation that the tapes are connected to Boards of Canada. Since April 10, mysterious posters containing the same hexagon logo as the VHS tapes have appeared in Soho, London, UK and Hollywood, California, USA.”

Surely they’ll get to the bottom of this. For now, check out the video for the ambient cut “Tape 5”—framed by the aforementioned tessellated hexagons—below.
