Weezer has announced that a new LP titled Weezer—following 1994’s Weezer, 2001’s Weezer, 2008’s Weezer, 2016’s Weezer, and 2019’s Weezer and Weezer—will arrive on August 21 via Reprise/Warner Records. To celebrate the news of their golden self-titled, Rivers Cuomo and friends have recruited another W-band for lead single “We Might as Well Be Strangers,” with Wednesday’s Karly Hartzman providing vocals to the tune.

For the band’s 20th LP, they worked with two different producers: Klas Åhlund and Kenneth Blume (f.k.a. Kenny Beats). Kenny stated that he wanted to make “the most violent Weezer album ever,” and wanted to capture them as a “rock band in a room.” Check out said rock band in a room, plus a member of another rock band in that same room, on “We Might as Well Be Strangers,” and pre-order Weezer here.
