Julia Jacklin returned this morning with her first new material since 2022’s Pre Pleasure LP, as well as being the Australian songwriter’s first single via her new label 4AD. The jangle-rock jam “Get Away From Me (I Think I’ll Love You Soon)” also serves as the first cut from Jacklin’s newly announced fourth album The Gem, which is slated to arrive on September 25. “I want to love and be loved, but I also want to be free,” she shared of the concept behind her upcoming release, which was co-produced with Robert Muinos. “The tension between those two things has been the central question of my life.”

Jacklin also recently announced a series of North American dates that will sandwich the album’s release, kicking off in San Diego in October and running through November. UK and European dates will follow in 2027. For now, check out the visualizer for “Get Away From Me” below, and pre-order The Gem here.
