Nolan the Ninja has teamed up with Philly underground mainstay lojii for a new single entitled “BONETAIL.” The dusty drum groove provides the perfect backdrop for Nolan to showcase his inimitable rapping style, the warm synth organ melodies giving the beat an undeniable warmth. “This track is a special one,” the rapper shared of the new cut. “The beat, artwork, lyrics, visuals—everything is great. This is hip-hop! This is for my people. I got my brother Ron playing live keys on it with no effort. My dawg lojii came through and helped laced it up. It gets no better! Do yourself a favor and add it to your spring-summer playlist.”
Adds lojii, “Me and Nolan been cooking up for a while now. I feel like we both naturally tap into the ’90s and 2000s rap/R&B sounds we grew up on and merge them with the present. This is definitely one of those ones. A feel-good jawn for the summer.”
The accompanying video is a clever collage stitching together footage of the duo enjoying a day in the park, cruising city streets, and smoking some of that devil’s lettuce. Check it out below.
