Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo has long flaunted her cool punk/indie cred. On the Guts world tour she brought out the likes of the Breeders, St Vincent, and Beabadoobee as support acts in addition to Chappell Roan, PinkPantheress, and Remi Wolf, while the mutual creative admiration between her and The Cure’s Robert Smith has gone from strength to strength. Not only did she bring him out for two Cure songs at her Glastonbury headline slot last year, but Smith also sings on “What’s Wrong With Me" on her just-released third album, You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love.

Not content with relishing in the critical acclaim and commercial success that record has been receiving—she’s just become the first artist in Billboard history to debut her first three albums at number one—Rodrigo has announced the launch of her own festival. Named Daisy Chain Fields, the one-day, non-profit event will take place at Great Park on August 29 in Irvine, CA. All of the artists and bands on the line-up are female (or female-fronted)—a nod to the late ’90s traveling all-female music festival Lilith Fair—and the festival has been designed with the intention of “advancing and advocating for women and girls.”

In addition to a set from Rodrigo herself, the line-up for her own all-female fest will feature performances from Chappell Roan, Bikini Kill, Mitski, Garbage, The Breeders, Katseye, Santigold, Rachel Chinouriri, Die Spitz, Not For Radio, Quiet Light, and Eli. But that’s not all—special guests at the inaugural Daisy Chain Fields will include Stevie Nicks, Karen O and Sarah McLachlan (who was one of the co-founders of Lilith Fair).

In the mission statement posted on the event’s website, Rodrigo commented: “Daisy Chain Fields is a music festival founded on the belief that joy, community, and creativity can inspire meaningful change. It affirms that music and collective experience can serve as enduring drivers of progress and social change. It's a place where inspiration and curiosity lead to knowledge, strength, and action.

“The festival celebrates the voices, artistry, and contributions of women in music, fostering an inclusive environment in which all are welcome. Daisy Chain offers more than live performances; it provides opportunities for education, dialogue, and engagement around issues affecting women and girls in the United States and globally. Through partnerships and on-site resources, the festival seeks to ensure that girls and young people have access to information and support they may not otherwise know how to find, and real-life interactions with women and girls who are bright lights in our world.

"Net proceeds from the festival are directed toward nonprofit organizations dedicated to advancing and advocating for women and girls. Beyond its philanthropic impact, Daisy Chain’s core purpose is to cultivate joy and shared understanding, creating space for meaningful moments of connection across generations and communities.

"Daisies are wild and beautiful. As a chain, they are strong and unbreakable.”

Net proceeds from Daisy Chain Fields will support the following organizations: Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Center for Reproductive Rights, FreeForm, Jhpiego, Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, National Domestic Workers Alliance, National Institute for Reproductive Health, National Women’s Law Center, and Planned Parenthood

The ticket presale begins at 10 A.M. PST on June 24—you can sign up for it here.
