Legendary alternative rock band Sugar—who reformed in October 2025 after three decades of inactivity—have shared a new single, "Keep Looping," and announced a slew of US tour dates.
Following comeback singles "House of Dead Memories" and "Long Live Love", "Keep Looping" is a feisty, fiery melodic punk anthem that immediately feels as classic and urgent as anything the band—singer/guitarist/former Hüsker Dü frontman Bob Mould, bassist David Barbe and drummer Malcolm Travis—have ever made.
Which, given their huge legacy, is a pretty impressive feat. Whether this new song is a sign of an impending album is anybody's guess, as Sugar only released two studio albums—1992's Copper Blue and 1994's File Under: Easy Listening—in their original lifetime, but it's good news regardless.
Having just finished up their European tour, Sugar begin their US run in Denver, CO on August 11 and finish up in Athens, GA on October 24. Jawbox's J. Robbins supports on all dates. A portion of each ticket purchase will be donated to The Trevor Project, the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention nonprofit organization for LGBTQ+ youth. The full list of tour dates can be found here.
