Thanks to Peter Haag, the world now has more Truman Capote (In Cold Blood, Breakfast at Tiffany’s) writing to look forward to. While the Swiss publisher was looking for lost chapters of the writer’s unfinished novel Answered Prayers, he stumbled across a collection of short stories and poems that are said to be from Capote’s early writing years. The pieces are thought to range from the years 1935 to 1943, when the author was between the ages of eleven and nineteen.
The collection—comprising of twelve poems and twenty short stories—will be published in a German publication this week. However, the English publication is expected for a December 2015 release by Random House. Just in time for the (next) holiday season, unless you start learning German right now.
