You may know the brotherly duo of Dylan and Noah Chenfeld either as covert tour guides within their hometown of NYC or as the musical duo central to their Rebounder project. After dropping a slew of singles dating back to 2018, this fall will see the release of the band’s debut album, Downtown People, an homage to New York that’s at least in part defined by an easygoing sound that may feel more at home on the opposite coast.

In fact, the record’s second single takes the form of a love letter to “God’s favorite timezone,” with “Heavenmaxxxing” pairing LA-fantasy lyrics with a relaxed indie-pop soundtrack. “Dylan had the instrumental and title kicking around for a while, and it had this laid-back, West Coast thing we both dug,” Noah shares. “We worked backwards from the title when writing the melody and lyrics.”

“Core to the NY experience of being a musician is loving LA, and being in love in LA—I think this song is about both,” Dylan adds.
