Last month marked five years since the release of GAYLE’s inescapable “ABCDEFU” single, which the Nashville-based songwriter quickly followed up with a slew of EPs that saw her honing her alt-pop sensibilities. This Friday, she’ll reveal where that process has led her when she releases her debut album, Observing Chaos. In the meantime she’s shared a few singles from the two-disc release, including a love letter to both family and Pride Month in the form of “junebug!” “This song was made to withstand all things fun, exciting, and tiring,” she explained upon the track’s release. “It’s for when you’re getting ready to go out, it’s on while you’re out doing things you love with people you love, and it’s always there the day after a party to remind you of how much fun you had.”

For “Neighborhoods,” the songwriter played an acoustic version of the single with a three-piece band at Nashville’s Bates Nursery & Garden Center. Additionally, the brief set kicks off with the yet-unreleased album opener “clementine.” “I love Nashville so much!” GAYLE shares. “There are so many local gems like Bates Nursery, and I wanted to highlight that for this video. Plus, ‘junebug!’ is about my love for the summer and especially in Nashville, and so it fit the theme! And I obviously thought clementine equals fruit equals nature equals Bates Nursery is the vibe for this video.”

Check out her performance of both songs below, and pre-save Observing Chaos here before it drops this Friday.
