Earlier this week, Mark Bellthe acid house trailblazer and influential producerdied from complications due to surgery, as was announced by Warp Records in a brief press release on their site.

Bell broke onto the electronic music scene with Gez Varley in the group LFO, whose eponymous debut single in 1990 was a Top 20 hit in the UK.

In 1995, Bell began an extensive collaborative career with Björk, producing and performing on her essential 1997 album Homogenic. Bell subsequently appeared in some capacity on every Björk release through 2011’s Biophilia.
