Tracy Morgan on SNL

In June 2014, Tracy Morgan was involved in a car wreck on the New Jersey Turnpike that killed his friend James McNair. Morgan was in critical condition and suffered what Reuters calls “a serious brain injury” that left his future as a comedian very much in question.

But Morgan has fought back. After making his first live TV appearance last month at The Emmys, where he presented the award for Best Dramatic Series, he hosted this weekend’s Saturday Night Live, where he immediately addressed the accident. “People are wondering, ‘Can he speak? Does he have 100% mental capacity?'” Morgan said in his monologue. “The truth is, I never did!” He also brought out former 30 Rock co-stars Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Jack McBrayer, and Jane Krakowski, and revised his very popular “Brian Fellow’s Safari Planet” sketch. You can see both Morgan’s opening monologue and the “Brian Fellow” sketch below.
