Waxahatchee “La Loose” video

Waxahatchee‘s Katie Crutchfield wrote “La Loose” while on vacation in Alabama, where she was born and raised. “I sat down with the little Casiotone and came up with it,” she told us back in May, shortly after the release of Ivy Tripp, her Merge debut.

Today, Crutchfield released a video for the track, which finds her wandering a dusky farm and bathed in colorful lights. In a statement, director Naomi Yang said, “‘La Loose’ is a song of love and longing, though dark at its edges with feelings of ambivalence. I wanted the video to be a visual equivalent to the song lyric, ‘a charming picture of hysteria in love’—a spinning emotional kaleidoscope of desire and rejection, adoration and anger, hope and despair.”

You can watch the video for “La Loose” below.
