Charles Moothart’s been knocking around the LA garage-rock scene for years as part of FUZZ and Ty Segall Band, but he’s decided to start the new year with something fresh—a new musical project all his own. CFM (Moothart, Michael Anderson, Tyler Frome, Thomas Alvarez) follows the same sonic thread as his noisy peers, but pushes Moothart center stage to tell his own static-filled tales of life and love loss.
Along with the announcement of the new SoCal quartet’s existence, CFM is readying their debut album, Still Life of Citrus and Slime, for an April release and dropped the LP’s lead single this morning. “Lunar Heroine” is a quick jolt of textured guitar riffs, laser sounds, and echoey vocals, which you can check out below along with Still Life‘s details.
