Speaking of his latest LP as Wild Nothing, Jack Tatum has said:

I allowed myself to go down every route I could imagine even if it ended up not working for me. I owe it to myself to take as many risks as possible. Songs are songs and you have to allow yourself to be open to everything.

One of those risks appears to be in Tatum’s unconventional rollout for the album, which started with two new songs released upfront last November (“To Know You” and “TV Queen”), followed by a third song to start the year (“Reichpop”), and then a fourth single that was shared today. The new track, “Life of Pause,” is the album’s title track, and is perhaps the strongest of the bunch—or at least the most familiar in terms of the synth-y atmospherics that Wild Nothing is known for.

Life of Pause is out February 19 on Captured Tracks.
