Jeremy McLennan grew up bouncing back and forth across the Pacific Rim, splitting his time between Sydney and Los Angeles. Now rooted (to the extent one can be) in LA, he makes music under the name Orchin, and while he cites Cocteau Twins, The Smiths, and Elliott Smith as influences, it’s hard not to hear the jangle of Oceanic pop à la Flying Nun through his smoggy production.

This afternoon, we’re pleased to be premiering Orchin’s “If I Ever.” The song, which is the b-side to the recently released “One” single, is a smeared three-minute flash of what McLennan does best: hazed-out production, scotchgarded guitars, and a shimmer that does its best to shine through the narcotic cloud. Give it a listen below.
