Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks, “Catchy (Was Contagious)” Music Video

If there’s anyone to start off our Halloween right, it’s Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks, and boy, they do not disappoint. Today they shared their take on classic horror films through their short film for “Catchy (Was Contagious)” off their debut album Enter the Slasher House. Filled with your favorite mash-up of monsters, this black-and-white video is enough to give you the spooks early.

Directed by Abigail Portner with actor Giovanni Ribisi handling director of photography duties, the flick takes place by the empty LA River and the neighborhoods around it. It follows a young boy (played by Beck‘s son Cosimo Hansen) who runs into some interesting characters throughout his walk (including Sean Pecknold, brother of Fleet Foxes’ Robin, and Slasher Flicks members Angel Deradoorian and Avey Tare). Nothing good can come from a day where the first person you run into is Frankenstein, can it? And everything unravels from there. As much as you may want to shut your eyes tight, it’s also oddly alluring especially to eerie (and catchy) sounds of Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks.
