As if the news about Twin Peaks’ impending return wasn’t enough reason to be excited for the future of TV, now there’s this: Sam Raimi has teamed up with Starz to develop the Evil Dead franchise into a show.
In the first ten-episode season, Bruce Campbell is all set to reprise his career-defining role of Ash Williams, and writer/producer Sam Raimi will direct the season premiere, which finds Ash once again fighting a Deadite plague, thirty years after the saga began. Not bad for a franchise that originally had to use 2×4’s to shoot their tracking shots.
