This morning, The Hollywood Reporter noted that Kid Cudi, alongside Chloë Sevigny and Alice Braga, will be starring in the latest endeavor from Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino (not a sequel to the Hammer-wielding Oscar-winner). Following news of the rapper’s signing on to act in the upcoming season of Westworld and the next installment of Bill & Ted’s decreasingly excellent adventures, it appears as if the artist is on the verge of more than just a musical upswing.

But with few details beyond its vague themes of “friendship, first love, and all the unknowns of being a teenager,” per THR, it’s hard to know exactly which of the many diverse roles the performer has played in the past will be making an appearance this time. With a flimsy filmography appeasing the art school crowd (his genuinely impressive turn in the criminally underseen James White), avant-garde comedy fans (a surprisingly apt role as the interim musical sidekick between Reggie Watts and Weird Al on Comedy Bang! Bang!), and the football team you were inexplicably housed with your freshman year of college (Need for Speed; Entourage; that Shia LeBeouf short film that looks like it was directed by the kid with the Rammstein shirt in your AP European History class), there’s no telling whether this billing is a Very Good Sign or a Very Bad one.

The involvement of Sevigny, however, is undeniably Very Good, as is the casting of a Scorsese (Marty’s daughter Francesca in her debut role). There’s a bunch of patriotic (?) pictures of the cast (taken by Guadagnino himself) on the show’s official Instagram—check out the familiar faces below.
