It’s been nearly a year since Parrot Dream shared Light Goes, their woozy debut treatise on shoegaze that injected Beach House’s atmospherics with psychedelic guitars that frequently bordered on grunge.
As is so often the case, some of the best tracks weren’t among the ten that made the final cut—but today, the Brooklyn duo is sharing a handful of these deleted scenes as an EP comprised of three B-sides. Oozing from languidity (“Woven”) to tension (“The Best”) to upbeat resolution (“Grey Falls”), B-Sides is nearly a proper album unto itself.
“These songs are definitely collecting parts of a memory,” the duo recalls of the recordings. “Memories of different formations of the band, people, friends, and a different musical headspace.”
Light Goes (B-Sides) is out this Friday, July 26, via Good Eye Records. You can pre-order it here.
