“This song is about waiting for the return of an absent loved one,” David Champion of CHAMPS says of the band’s beautiful new single, “Red Star.” “It’s about longing, patience, and devotion through trying circumstances.”

Those feelings are captured on the “Red Star” visual, which premieres below. Featuring images of English island life bathed in various hues of blue and red, the clip lovingly echoes the quiet acoustic passion of the song. Reminiscent of Fleet Foxes and Nick Drake, both the song and video set a warm mood ideal for the transition into fall.

“Red Star” is the penultimate track on The Hard Interchange, the forthcoming full-length from the fraternal Isle of Wight duo (Michael Champion is the other brother in CHAMPS). The album is set for release September 27 via BMG.
