Even though there was no surprise appearance from Frank Ocean, this past weekend’s Levitation fest in Austin proved a memorable affair, with the likes of The Flaming Lips, Chelsea Wolfe, Dinosaur Jr., and The Black Angels waging psychedelic warfare against our earbuds. An expertly curated lineup featuring psych-rock heavy hitters and songwriters well-versed in other various strains of ’70s rock took to stages across the Texas capitol to give ACL and SXSW a run for their money.
