At this point it seems pretty clear that Liam and Noel Gallagher don’t much care for each other. Despite sharing a Brit-pop legacy as members of Oasis—not to mention a mother—the Gallaghers have been very publicly feuding since their days playing shows together; though since Oasis broke up over a decade ago, that feuding has pivoted from taking place on-stage to online.
For some time now, rumors have been floating around about the duo reteaming for an Oasis reunion—as far back as 2012, Liam’s Beady Eye project performed “Wonderwall” at the London Olympics, leading to speculation that Noel may be onboard. He wasn’t, and as of today we know for sure that at least one of them is far from complicit. “We’ve been offered 100 million pounds for a tour still not enough for the greedy soul oh well stay young,” Liam tweeted earlier today, leading to some passive aggressive back-and-forth between the two, with no @s to be seen.
“I am not aware of any offer from anybody for any amount of money to reform the legendary Mancunian Rock’n’Roll group Oasis,” Noel cheekily countered. “I am fully aware though that someone has a single to promote so that’s maybe where the confusion lies,” he concluded, alluding to Liam’s recent release cycle for his album Why Me? Why Not..
