Jehnny Beth Announces Solo Album “To Love Is to Live,” Shares “Flower”
The Savages vocalist’s debut solo album is out May 8 on Caroline Records.
Last November Savages’ Jehnny Beth dropped a jarring, electro-rock single under her given name for the TV series Peaky Blinders, and today Beth is announcing that there’s plenty more solo music coming out in the future.
“Flower” is the first single from the songwriter’s newly announced solo debut, To Love Is to Live, which drops May 8. Countering the caffeinated pulse of “I’m the Man,” “Flower” is a slow-burning, sinister ode to a stripper at LA’s storied Jumbo’s Clown Room, coming to life on the rousing, earworm chorus.
The rest of the record features contributions from The xx’s Romy Madley Croft, IDLES’ Joe Talbot, and Peaky Blinders actor Cillian Murphy, as well as production from Flood, Atticus Ross, and Johnny Hostile. Stream the first single below, and read on for Jehnny’s upcoming UK/U.S. tour dates.
