Catholic Action, a band who will very much be at New Colossus and SXSW next weekend, are continuing to roll out singles in preparation for the release of their new album, Celebrated by Strangers, out at the end of the month. Following last month’s playful “Another Name for Loneliness,” the four-piece are serving up another upbeat preview of the record called “Yr Old Dad.”

In spite of the handclap beats and sunshine-y, riff-heavy guitar bridges, “Dad” is a macabre (and downright weird) absurdist anthem. “This is the sound of the wheels coming off, a sing-along catastrophe,” the band’s Chris McCrory shares about the track. “The shrugged shoulders as another funny little plan doesn’t go quite right.” Warm up your pipes and stream the track below.

Celebrated by Strangers is out March 27 on Palo Santo Records—pre-order it here.
