Last night, Soccer Mommy tweeted what seemed like a joke—that her set for the recently revived Disney MMO Club Penguin would have to be rescheduled due to their servers crashing when the stream surpassed capacity. “so many of you showed up that it overloaded the servers,” Sophie Allison explained. “working on a solution and we’ll have an update on a new date for this soon!”

It didn’t help that serial witticist Sidney Gish followed up the tweet with one of her own, casually noting that she was “at the soccer mommy club penguin concert.” I guess it seemed on-brand enough for each of their accounts to tweet something like this that a bunch of people DMed me these tweets thinking they were jokes (SM’s Twitter header image is a screenshot from Arthur, SG’s profile picture is Daria)—but Soccer Mommy’s publicist (and countless disappointed fans in Allison’s replies) have confirmed that this event was, in fact, the real deal.

If you hurry, you can still catch Soccer Mommy’s set on La Blogotheque, which went live at 10 a.m. PST. Check back on our live stream tag to see if the Club Penguin gig ever transpires.
