So far we’ve heard two singles from the forthcoming Strokes LP: the highly experimental synth piece “At the Door” and the very Strokes-y guitar number “Bad Decisions.” The third and presumably final pre-album single from The New Abnormal bridges the gap between these two extremes, placing equal amounts of focus on wonky synths and sharp guitar lines.

“Brooklyn Bridge to Chorus” sounds like the wild, ’80s-inspired experiments found on Julian Casablancas’ solo recordings and work with The Voidz, only reeled in by the post-punk revivalist influence of his backing band. It’s yet another reason to look forward to Friday, when the New Yorkers finally drop their long-awaited follow-up to 2013’s Comedown Machine.

The New Abnormal is out everywhere April 10 via Cult/RCA—you can pre-order it here.
