Though it may be a dark time for the music industry, it’s shaping up to be a golden era for covers. With many artists of all mediums struggling to create in quarantine, the live stream cover set has become a popular way of keeping creative juices flowing and keeping fans engaged, with everyone from James Blake to Sam Neill offering up their takes on Radiohead.

Polyvinyl Records is taking this covers renaissance to the next level, packaging a handful of ’em together for a new comp they released today via Bandcamp bluntly called Stay Home, which also includes demos and unreleased singles from the label’s artists. For $5 (or more) you can directly support these artists who are missing out on a touring income, including Yumi Zouma, Anna Burch, of Montreal, Chris Farren, Pedro the Lion, STRFKR, Post Animal, and The Get Up Kids.

Additionally, the sixteen-song track list features Owen covering The 1975’s “Me,” Palehound covering Karen Dalton’s “Something on Your Mind,” Squirrel Flower covering Emmylou Harris’ “Icy Blue Heart,” Hazel English covering The Mamas & the Papa’s “California Dreamin’,” and Xiu Xiu covering Kim Jung Mi’s “Haenim.” Sample the whole project below, and grab a download from the Bandcamp page.
