How the tables have turned. Former Blink-182 member Tom DeLonge baffled a lot of people when he walked away from the band to chase UFOs, launching the To the Stars Academy of Arts & Science in 2017.

While many questioned his motives and even his sanity as DeLonge dove deeper into UFO research, his devotion has paid off in a big way this week: the Pentagon has officially published three videos, captured between 2004 and 2015, that were first shared with the world by To The Stars in 2017. The clips were widely distributed, generating millions of views each. This official Pentagon publication follows the U.S. Navy classifying the clips as “unexplained aerial phenomenon” just last year.

DeLonge is taking the news graciously, taking to social media to thank those who’ve supported him over the years.

“With today’s events and articles on my and @TTSAcademy’s efforts to get the US Gov to start the grand conversation, I want to thank every share holder at To The Stars for believing in us,” he posted on Twitter. “Next, we plan on pursuing the technology, finding more answers and telling the stories.”
