Margo Price Drops New Live Album Featuring Jack White, Emmylou Harris, and Sturgill Simpson

As we await the release of her rescheduled third album, Price shares a recording of a 2018 set at The Ryman.

It was a bit of a bummer to learn that Margo Price’s forthcoming album That’s How Rumors Get Started would be among the many high-caliber releases seeing a new, later release date in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. She was kind enough to break the news with a quality John Lennon cover to ease the blow, and now she’s following that up with a full LP of unheard material in the form of a live recording.

Taken from one of three nights of sold-out shows at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium in 2018, Perfectly Imperfect at The Ryman is a star-studded affair featuring cameos from Jack White, Emmylou Harris, and Sturgill Simpson. Shared as a Bandcamp exclusive, all proceeds benefit MusiCares’ COVID-19 Relief Fund (if you hold out until June 5, the third monthly Bandcamp Day, to purchase it, 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the fund).

“I am so excited that we are releasing it today,” she shared earlier today in a press release for the project. “The recordings are rough and the performances are raw, but there was a magic there and the band was on fire. We played unreleased songs, alternative album versions and had lots of special guests. I hope it moves you.”
