As so many seem to be doing these days, director Paul Feig used Twitter to announce his prospective cast for the long in-development Ghostbusters 3, making good on his promise that the main actors would all be women.
Presuming that the contract deals get finalized, Bridesmaids stars Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy will be joined by Saturday Night Live troupers Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones for the continuation of the franchise, due out July 22, 2016—more than twenty-seven years after the last installment.

The question remains, of course, how exactly these characters will fit within the world established in the classic first two films, but that seems minimal compared to the bigger issue of whether or not the world actually needs another easy reboot in the first place. Regardless, though, that doesn’t mean it won’t make a boat-load of money either way.
You win again, Hollywood.
