So far this year, Song Machine—the experimental collaborative project Gorillaz has slowly been rolling out since January—has taken us all over the world, with a broad collection of musical guests and the Gorillaz crew sharing visuals for each song that take place everywhere from Morocco to Paris. For their latest single and accompanying video, they remove themselves from the Earth’s atmosphere completely with a cosmic trip to the moon—which is also Robert Smith’s face.

While it’s certainly not the most intense, saddest, most dramatic and most emotional track The Cure’s singer has ever recorded, it’s a very Cure-y vocal contribution to an otherwise very Gorillaz-y number, serving as the sixth episode to the first season of Song Machine. Along with the video, Gorillaz have finally announced a release date for SM Season 1: You can expect the expansive 17-track record—on standard CD, cassette, and vinyl, including Deluxe and Super-Deluxe box sets—out October 23. Among the additional guests being revealed for the project today are St. Vincent, Elton John, Beck, ScHoolboy Q, CHAI, EarthGang, Skepta, and JPEGMAFIA.
