Last month, West Coast songwriter Matt Costa followed up his 2018 LP Santa Rosa Fangs with his sixth studio album in fifteen years, Yellow Coat. Composed of personal letters from Costa to himself after a decade-long relationship went south, the record is as somber as it is optimistic about the future, its twelve tracks full of heartbreak and healing.
Costa brought two of these tracks dealing with each of these respective themes to his recent “Neighborhoods” set, where he performed “Sky Full of Tears” and “Let Love Heal” in his backyard in Laguna Beach. Watch the performance below, and listen to his new album which is out now via Dangerbird Records.
