Yesterday, the Brooklyn-based duo of Jordan Dunn-Pilz and Dan Alvarez revealed that their group Toledo would be putting out a new six-song EP at the beginning of 2021, with Jockeys of Love slated for a January 29 release. The record was produced by Jorge Elbrecht, aligning it with the soft psychedelia of Ariel Pink, Wild Nothing, and No Joy, all of whom he’s worked with in the past.

The first taste of the project embodies the wispy bedroom pop the pair’s come to be known for. “‘Challenger’ is a song about art funding and the comfort of being able to do what you love,” they explain, before describing the playful, grainy visual the song arrives with. “The video brings out some ’90s nostalgia, and is centered around the idea of watching old VHS tapes. It’s a visual amalgamation of nature, creativity and artistic expression.”
