You probably know the story by now: a band commits to a productive 2020 back in January only to have a global pandemic present a worst case scenario. While they weren’t able to unveil all five of their planned singles for the year—nor their SXSW sojourn—NYC’s Looms put forth a commendable effort. Earlier this year they unveiled the laid back and only slightly self-deprecatingly titled “My Stupid Life” along with a colorful video, and today they’re following that up with single #2.

“Obvious” is a bit more upbeat, landing somewhere between the alt-country flavors of Wilco and the heartland rock inclinations of The War on Drugs. “This is a song about realizing how obvious your feelings are for someone after being so uncertain,” the group shares, offering up a fantasy many of us haven’t had the luxury of relating to in the year of everything perpetually being up in the air.
