It might be safe to bet that this past week was among the most stressful in our country’s collective memory, with Saturday morning providing the much-needed release we were all hoping for. At this point it seems likely that the name “Trump” will only reach headlines in the context of losing legal battles, botched publicity stunts, and banishments from social media—unequivocally a change for the better.

Capturing this moment of buoyancy, Rain Phoenix is revealing a new video today setting tranquil scenes of waves crashing on a West Coast shore—filmed on Election Day—to a new cover she recorded of Lou Reed’s optimistic “Perfect Day.” “I chose to cover one of my favorite love songs during election week because I think what the world needs now, more than ever, is love,” she shares. “The final lyric of ‘Perfect Day’ is simply, ‘You’re going to reap just what you sow,’ and I hope we citizens of the world can harness the transformational power of love and use it to co-create a future that is fair and just for us all.”
