Well, it was as bad—if not considerably worse—than most of us imagined, but as of today, January 20, 2021, we’re no longer governed by a WrestleMania-ass president. The past four years have never been short on bad news, culminating in total negligence of an incredibly deadly pandemic which has wreaked havoc on all of our lives, including preventing paychecks from touring musicians—barring Bow Wow, Lil Durk, and Smash Mouth—who’ve been unable to play shows since last March.
Needless to say today has been cathartic—plenty of artists have taken to social media to publicly breathe a sigh of relief as Joe Biden is sworn in to replace the man who played Waldo’s dad in the Little Rascals movie. “Crying so hard my glasses need windshield wipers,” Best Coast tweeted this morning, while artists like Frank Turner send best wishes from overseas. You can read just a handful of the statements below.
My intention is to acknowledge our past, be healing for our present, and passionate for a future where we work together lovingly. I will sing to the hearts of all people who live on this land. Respectfully and kindly, Lady Gaga. ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

Today I feel like I can breathe out, after four years of holding my breath. It's not perfect, it's not a return to 'normalcy', but it's something. Big love USA.
