We’re only three weeks into the new year, and San Diego soul three-piece Thee Sacred Souls are four pressings into the 7-inch they released to both commemorate 2021 and claim it as their year. Coming off the heat of a handful of singles in 2020, “Will I See You Again”—along with its B-side “It’s Our Love”—fell right in line with our expectations.
It’s the latter song the band has chosen to revive today with a new video, documenting the recording process and their warm SoCal setting in hazy Super 8. “We wanted to capture candid moments of our time at the Penrose studio and hangin’ with our crew around SD for the video,” the band shares of the video, which feels aptly mellow for the song’s easygoing, soulful vibe. “We reached out to our friend David Lampley, who specializes in Super 8 analog film. His experimental shooting style along with the visual quality of Super 8 film fit the laidback and dreamy mood we envisioned.”
