Back in October, Homeboy Sandman celebrated the release of his heavy LP Don’t Feed the Monster by sharing a playlist of songs which, according to the rapper, deal with an equally heavy theme: proof of the existence of God. Among these tracks was the cool abstract hip-hop of Deca’s “Clay Pigeons,” a new obsession for the emcee who boldly noted that “all of the spiritual, and mythological, and nature vs. technology, and personal evolution, and power of thought, and misinformation, and yin and yang, and creativity, and life, and purpose had been brilliantly captured in one magnificent rap song.”

Fast-forward to February 2021 and Sandman and Deca are dropping their first tune together, a four-minute single that encapsulates both artists’ strong suits and affirms the projected chemistry the two artists predictably share. “I first heard Homeboy Sandman at a show back in 2012, and have been a fan since,” Deca notes. “He did ‘The Carpenter’ live without dropping a word, and I remember being amazed by the lyricism and breath control. He’s an incredible artist and It’s a real honor to connect with him.”

Sandman counters, “I was put on to Deca this fall when he dropped ‘Clay Pigeons.’ I was amazed. Blown away. Since then I’ve familiarized myself with everything he’s ever released and I’m very grateful to rock his produce.”
