The latest single from Portugal-based musician Guilherme Correia makes the ennui of being stuck inside feel like four shots of espresso. “Visual Diary,” the latest from his project Hause Plants, is a hectic brew of dream pop and shoegaze landing somewhere between DIIV and Blink-182. “Stuck inside for so long / Will you know my name?” goes one haunting line. The drum hits are punchy and upbeat as tinny guitar plucks sprint along with anxious speed. “Visual Diary” captures the hollowness that festers from isolation, a feeling many know too well as a result of the current pandemic. “Mesmerized / By these four walls / I’ve been here for days,” Correia sings, his voice barely breaking through the cacophony of fuzz.

The accompanying video takes across the city of Lisbon with cropped VHS-recorded images. Correia is the sole individual in the video, only his electric guitar or a handful of french fries to keep him company. Check out the video below.
