School Night—a Hollywood-based music showcase series founded in 2010 by KCRW DJ Chris Douridas and Matt Goldman that’s featured artists such as Lizzo, Billie Eilish, and Dua Lipa before their massive stardom— has announced its collaboration with music exec Tom Windish to produce a new artist discovery channel via Twitch. Dubbed “School Night at Home,” the series will be hosted by British singer-songwriter Bevan who will live chat with a curated lineup of upcoming musicians. Performances will be streamed every Monday and Wednesday evening at 5 p.m. PT.
Windish, founder of the former Windish Agency and now partner at Paradigm, has been a longtime fan of the series and will be booking the new virtual series along with Douridas and School Night’s Director of Events Sharyn Goldyn. “School Night at Home will be a permanent fixture and tool for artist development,” he tells FLOOD. “We have removed key barriers from in person events—no longer do artists need to obtain the funds to travel to LA, secure and pay for a USA working visa, and hope there is still a slot available when the artist passes through town. I was blown away by the impact and curation of Season 1. Now that we’re partnered with Twitch and have expanded the production and resources for the show, the impact will be far greater.”
