We’ve been treated to memorable singles and guest spots from Southern California disco revivalist Cola Boyy for nearly five years now, but today marks the first news of a proper album: Prosthetic Boombox is set for release on June 18 via Record Makers and MGMT Records, with MGMT’s Andrew Van Wyngarden listed alongside artists including The Avalanches, John Carroll Kirby, and Nicolas Godin of Air as one of the record’s many collaborators.

As a first taste of the album, today we’re also getting the playful sci-fi visual for the record’s first single, “Don’t Forget Your Neighborhood,” a collaboration that sees The Avalanches return the favor after Cola was featured on their last album. “This is one of my favorite jams on the record,” Cola says of the bouncy, instantly catchy tune. “I wanted a mix of The Beach Boys, French disco, house keys ,and a hint of the Cheers soundtrack for good measure! It’s a message to everyone: Don’t get lost in the petty capitalist dream that has us abandon the people and places that shaped us. I wouldn’t be who I am today without the masses of Oxnard, and no flashing lights can outweigh that.”

In the video, Cola Boyy presents his new teleportation technology to a rapt Zoom audience of The Avalanches, Sofie Royer, and a frustrated John Carroll Kirby, who gets left behind as the rest of the group transform into animated versions of themselves. Watch it below.
