The newest single off Baker Grace‘s forthcoming EP The Show Is Over, which is out today, is “Simple Days.” The subtle, wistful single is an ode to easier times. Her previous singles “Be Okay” and “I Feel For You” were R&B-infused minimal reflections on self-awareness and unrelenting love.
Both illustrated Baker’s crushed velvet coos and observations on life’s growing pains, and “Simple Days” continues Grace’s low-key, pensive stride. “Why are we moving on / When all we ever wanted is right back where we started from?” she sings during the chorus. The 19-year-old New York singer-songwriter is finding her ground in a chaotically backwards world with unhurried, delicate pop sensibilities.
