Coming off the release of their pop-punk-by-way-of-garage-rock EP Taste of Me and an Australian tour alongside The Chats, Adelaide duo Teenage Joans are now sharing a video for album closer “Wine,” which not only works the song’s ideas into the busy visual, but incorporates not-so-subtle nods to the project’s other four tracks, from a stint at a therapist’s office to a futile ice cream truck chase. In the same way the track pulls the rest of the EP together with its bouncy verses and soft breakdowns, the video neatly places all the individual tracks’ vibrant themes explored in the lyrics alongside one another.

“Since ‘Wine’ is the closing track to the EP, and our favorite song off Taste of Me, we wanted to showcase the whole EP through the aesthetics in this video,” the duo shares. “The scene where we are chasing an ice cream truck represents the first track, ‘Ice Cream.’ Chasing the truck was our way of showcasing the song’s meaning of trying to keep up when life moves too fast. The table scene in the beginning has an apple pie on it, representing the second track, ‘Apple Pie.’ The therapist’s office represents the fourth track, ‘Therapist.’ We played nonchalant in the scenes showcasing the song’s metaphor of not listening when people tell you to change. Finally, the hall scene represents ‘Wine.’ We played in an empty room post-party, trying to showcase the song’s meaning of when things come to a bittersweet end.”
