I haven’t fallen in love at first sight, but I imagine it would feel something like witnessing the sun’s ascent in the other person’s iris. Cool visual, right? Well that’s the first image we get from the single “Plz” from Richmond, Virginia artist Benét. “Plz” is swept up in love’s intoxication as synths swirl and the bouncy, funk-fused rhythm carries Benét’s cries for the atmosphere’s embrace.
In a statement, the musician explained the track’s intention. “‘Plz’ really is a song for people who are not afraid to go after what they want. Pouring your heart out might feel a little embarrassing but soon you’ll learn that a few ‘Plz’s’ can go a long way…respectfully of course.”
