Today, Baltimore brooders Lower Dens released a video for their upcoming album’s first single “To Die in L.A.” The video, directed by Cody Critcheloe of SSION (Dum Dum Girls, Perfume Genius), is a surreal pastiche of Los Angeles that follows a tragic blonde heroine (Actually Huizenga) through a series of incredibly strange encounters.

Frontwoman Jana Hunter recently spoke about the song, and its cinematic namesake: “The song takes its name from the film To Live and Die in L.A.. Both the song and the film are about something wild, careless, exciting and tragic. The video needed to reflect that.”

Escape from Evil is out March 31 on Ribbon Music.
