Sharon Van Etten and Angel Olsen Reimagine The Velvet Underground & Nico’s “Femme Fatale”

I’ll Be Your Mirror: A Tribute to The Velvet Underground & Nico is out September 24.

Sharon Van Etten and Angel Olsen have been on a roll lately promoting their big single “Like I Used To.” They recently performed it together at Pitchfork Fest, and it looked like they had a grand ol’ time. Today, the two are back with another new collaboration, but instead of an original song they’ve covered The Velvet Underground & Nico’s classic tune “Femme Fatale.”

The cover is for the forthcoming tribute album I’ll Be Your Mirror: A Tribute to The Velvet Underground & Nico, which is out next week on September 24. We’ve already heard Iggy Pop & Matt Sweeney take on “European Son,” Courtney Barnett with “I’ll Be Your Mirror,” Matt Berninger reimagine “I’m Waiting for the Man,” and Kurt Vile & the Violators perform “Run Run Run.” For their cover, Van Etten and Olsen make “Femme Fatale” less endearing and more unnerving—the quaaludes kicked in and the room has melted.

Here it below and pre-order the tribute album here.
