After wowing audiences touring with KITTEN and Charli XCX following the release of her 2018 EP Cult Classic, Fiona Grey returned last month with the catchy MNDR-produced single “Sick of It,” which took shots at our modern age of impossible beauty standards made even less possible by social media filters and other dysmorphias introduced with our increasingly online lifestyles.
It’s this track Grey performed for her recent “Neighborhoods” session filmed in LA’s Studio City, parked alongside guitarist Liv Slingerland on top of an ambulance (you know, like you do). While this stripped-down version loses the piercing guitar sounds that characterize its studio recording, the minimal guitar accompaniment leaves Grey plenty of room for her voice to soar.
